Round 3 of the NCHSAA football playoffs is approaching, and the Fayetteville area has three teams remaining.

No. 5 Cape Fear will travel to No. 4 Garner for a 7A East matchup, while the No. 7 Seventy-First Falcons face a familiar postseason nemesis in No. 2 Northern Nash in the 6A East. For the 7A West, No. 8 Jack Britt is set to travel to Greensboro to meet with top-seeded Grimsley, who is also ranked No. 14 in the nation according to MaxPreps.
