A detective who tracked down a car similar to one owned by Toyah Cordingley's alleged killer, Rajwinder Singh, has told a court how he narrowed his search.

Mr Singh is on trial in the Supreme Court in Cairns and has pleaded not guilty to murdering the 24-year-old woman, whose body was found on Wangetti Beach, north of Cairns, in October 2018.

The court has previously heard how police compared Ms Cordingley's phone records, and the cell towers it pinged, with CCTV vision of cars driving south towards Cairns on the afternoon she is presumed to have been killed.
