Historic St. Vincent’s Church restores bell and clock in Akron

The time is near. A joyful noise will reverberate across West Hill.

After more than a decade of silence, St. Vincent’s Church , the oldest Catholic church in Akron, is restoring its bell and clock system in the imposing stone tower at 164 W. Market St.

The original 1886 bell and a new carillon will ring each hour during the day and a four-sided clock will provide the correct time 24 hours.
