Police are hunting the occupants of a car involved in an early morning pursuit in West Lothian which ended when a patrol car left the road.

The chase was being carried out on the A801 at Junction 4 of the M8 near Bathgate on Wednesday, November 19, when the incident occurred at a roundabout shortly after 2am.

Two officers in the police car were taken to hospital for treatment, but were later discharged.

The vehicle they were pursuing was found near to the scene, but its occupants had disappeared. Inquiries are now underway to trace them.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.10am on Wednesday, 19 November, 2025, we received a report of a police car having come off the road following a brief pursuit on the A801 M8 Junction to Pottishaw Roundabout.
