Anthony Williams, a 32-year-old man from Langford Road, Peterborough, has been charged with a series of serious offences in connection with the Huntingdon train attack. He is set to appear at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court this afternoon, facing seven additional charges linked to incidents that allegedly took place on 31 October, the day before the train attack.

The new charges include attempted murder of a 14-year-old boy at Henry Penn Walk, attempted grievous bodily harm (GBH) of a 28-year-old man at Viersen Platz, and attempted murder of a 22-year-old man near Pleasure Fair Meadow Road, all occurring on the same day. Williams is also charged with affray and possession of a bladed article related to an incident at Ritzy Barbers, theft of knives from Asda supermarket in Stevenage, and common assault of a 31-year-old man on a train travelling between Hitchin and Biggleswade.

BTP Deputy Chief Constable Stuart Cundy remarked, "These are a significant set of new charges. Our investigation into the awful incident at Huntingdon has also focused on other offences previously reported to police or identified by our investigation." He emphasised the importance of not publishing anything that could jeopardise ongoing criminal proceedings or the integrity of the investigation.

Previously, Williams faced ten counts of attempted murder related to the train incident that occurred on 1 November. This attack left a train crew member, Samir Zitouni, seriously injured while he was protecting passengers. Zitouni, who has worked for London North Eastern Railway (LNER) for over 20 years, was discharged from hospital after being in critical condition due to multiple injuries sustained during the attack.

LNER confirmed that Zitouni is now recovering at home. His family expressed gratitude for the public's support, stating, "We are so grateful for the outpouring of support from the public, and very touched by all the kind words about Sam’s brave actions on the night of the attack. While we are really happy to have him home, he still has a significant recovery ahead and we would now like to be left in privacy to care for him as a family."
