Light snow and rain in central Pennsylvania counties will end early this morning, Wednesday morning, with some areas experiencing slushy accumulations that could impact the morning commute.

The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement because of travel troubles possible on slick roads in an area that includes Luzerne, Schuylkill and Northumberland counties. The band of mixed precipitation will move eastward and exit the region shortly after 7 a.m.

In the Harrisburg area today, it’ll be cloudy and chilly, with a high of 48 .

Rain returns to the forecast Friday, becoming more widespread Friday night into early Saturday morning. Precipitation will gradually end from north to south on Saturday, leading to a dry end to the weekend on Sunday with seasonable temperatur
