Rain, sleet, snow and ice pellets were being reported across the southern tier of Michigan this morning as a wave of precipitation pushed into the state. Included in the areas seeing ice pellets were spots like Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, Grand Rapids and Hastings.
This falls in line with that “wintry mix” forecast the National Weather Service has been discussing.

Temperatures riding the line on either side of the freezing mark means some places were expected to get snow early today, while others were in line for sleet, ice pellets or rain.
But by later today, any frozen precipitation will give way to rain as the temperatures warm.
