JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KFVS) - Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway is launching an investigation into the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHAA).
This follows a whistleblower’s claims about race and sex discrimination.
Those claims come in a report from Missouri Auditor Scott Fitzpatrick.
According to Fitzpatrick, a review conducted by his office outlined a policy barring certain individuals from serving on the MSHAA board solely because of their race or sex.
A whistleblower says he was told by MSHSAA that he was not eligible for an at-large board position specifically because he was white and a man.
MSHSAA’s constitution requires at-large seats to be filled by a candidate representing “the under-represented gender…or an under-represented ethnicity.”
