GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Officers arrested a six-time convicted felon found in possession of a “ghost gun” in downtown Gainesville.

Officers say they received a tip that Matthew Spence, 22, had a firearm and was involved in an argument in a parking lot off First Avenue around 1 a.m. on Thursday.

They tracked down the vehicle mentioned in the tip and found Spence. During a patdown, officers found a striker-fired, “Glock 19,” style pistol with no serial number.

Spence was booked into the Alachua County Jail on the charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Bond was set at $15,000.
