LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A 17-year-old motorcyclist from Lincoln died hours after a crash in southwest Lincoln on Tuesday.
Lincoln Fire and Rescue and Lincoln Police responded to the intersection of Southwest 23rd and West South streets shortly before 2:45 p.m. on the report of a crash. A Buick Enclave and a Yamaha motorcycle were involved in the collision.
According to a preliminary investigation conducted by LPD, the Buick, driven by a 69-year-old Lincoln woman, was on Southwest 23rd Street preparing to turn left onto West South Street when the woman said she heard a motorcycle speeding. She began to turn left when saw the motorcycle’s headlight crest the hill.
LPD said the driver stopped the Buick, and the teen laid down his bike. He slid more than 100 feet and collided with the driver
