Newcastle United defender Fabian Schar admits that the Carabao Cup can be the Magpies' fast-track way to success again this season.

For all the debate about ropey Premier League form, Newcastle are 90 minutes away from a two-legged semi-final in the Carabao Cup with some fans already eyeing up hotels for the March 22 final. Schar was part of the side that ended the club's 70-year quest for a trophy when the Magpies beat Liverpool 2-1 earlier this year.
