Amarillo Habitat for Humanity has been awarded a $50,000 grant through Bank of America’s 2025 Neighborhood Builders program, giving the nonprofit new resources to expand affordable housing and return to the North Heights neighborhood for the first time in more than 15 years.

Now entering its 22nd year, the Neighborhood Builders program annually selects two high-impact nonprofits in nearly 100 U.S. communities. Amarillo was one of a limited number of Texas cities chosen in the 2025 cycle — a rare recognition of growing housing pressures across the Panhandle.
