HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Three museums are competing in the annual Tri-City Food Fight to collect donations for area food pantries.
The Hastings Museum, Kearney Archway and Stuhr Museum are participating in the friendly competition to see who can donate the most food to their area food pantries. The event has been running for more than three decades.
“This year we’re doing two months. We’ve already had a lot of donations come through,” said Mikayla Wright, marketing and public relations director for the Hastings Museum. “I think this year especially people have been impacted really hard with just how the world is and so, I think community members are recognizing that and already we have full boxes.”
Wright said the competition serves a purpose beyond bragging rights.
