Criminals targeted a Midland council as tenants rushed to snap up their homes before a right-to-buy discount was cut.
The stampede followed the announcement last year that the reduction available to those buying their council house was to be reduced.
Sandwell Council said it saw a surge in applications and stopped ten applications - with a combined value of around £750,000 - amid fraud concerns.
