A Connecticut jury has found a 50-year-old man guilty of sexually assaulting a teenage girl nearly six years ago at a Milford beach, state authorities said.
Tyrone Craddock, 50, of Bridgeport, was convicted of sexual assault in the first degree on Tuesday, Nov. 18, after three days of jury deliberation, the Office of State's Attorney said.
Craddock met the 16-year-old victim through the ride-share service Uber, prosecutors said. For two years, he became her personal taxi service, sometimes not charging her for rides.
On these trips, he would often allow her and her 15-year-old friend to drink alcohol and use cannabis in the car, prosecutors said.
During a ride on March 29, 2019, to Walnut Beach, police said Craddock sexually assaulted the 16-year-old in a secluded area.
Senior Assistant State's Attorney Mary SanAngelo told the jury that this was standard grooming behavior, according to the Connecticut Post. Craddock pretended to be a guardian to the girls, she said, but he was actually a "wolf in sheep's clothing."
A judge will sentence Craddock on Jan. 6, 2026.
