BOISE, Idaho — An infant from Ada County was hospitalized with suspected botulism potentially tied to a ByHeart Whole Nutrition formula recall, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (IDHW) announced Wednesday.
Health officials said the department was notified of the infant botulism case, which is reportedly part of a nationwide outbreak currently under investigation.
The Ada County case is the only identification of the illness in Idaho thus far. However, the recalled ByHeart infant formula was available in stores throughout the Gem State and online, according to Wednesday's news release.
