MAPLETON, Ore. - A 29-year-old Mapleton man was arrested Tuesday morning for allegedly threatening others with a knife outside local businesses, according to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office.
LCSO officials said that sheriff’s deputies from Florence and Veneta responded at about 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 18 to the incident that occurred in Mapleton’s business district along Highway 126. A suspect, identified as Thomas Lynn Jessop, was reportedly threatening individuals along Highway 126 by allegedly pointing a large knife and making threatening statements while advancing toward them, authorities said.
