ROSEBURG, Ore. – A 21-year-old Roseburg man was arrested last Friday in connection with the attempted murder of a Myrtle Creek man in the victim’s home, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
DCSO officials said that sheriff’s deputies responded on Nov. 9 to a reported assault at a home in the 1300 block of Gazley Road in Myrtle Creek. Detectives say the victim was initially taken to Mercy Medical Center with injuries that were inconsistent with an accidental fall. The investigation revealed Balliew was assaulted with an object after the suspect, identified as Heath Lethlean, allegedly broke into his residence. Lethlean was later arrested in Roseburg on Nov. 14 in connection with the assault, Douglas County sheriff’s officials said.
