FOXBOROUGH — Following Thursday’s win over the Jets, Mike Vrabel admitted Drake Maye was one of the things that drew him to the Patriots .
Vrabel had hinted at it in the past, but sitting next to Maye on Amazon’s postgame show, Vrabel spoke candidly about the 23-year-old quarterback’s role in luring him back to Foxborough.
“I came here because of the familiarity. I came here because of Drake,” Vrabel said. “I knew what he would be, and it was important for me to come here. And that’s someone I wanted to coach. And so building a program is about that. It’s about putting great people around your really good players. That’s what Drake is for us.”
Vrabel wasn’t the only high-profile free agent that chose New England this offseason.
