How does New Castle County move forward following last year's property reassessment, and what has been learned?
The Delaware General Assembly's bipartisan Special Committees on Reassessment resumed its schedule of hearings Wednesday, after recent court rulings upheld special legislation that allowed separate rates to be set for residential and non-residential properties in setting school taxes.
New Castle County Chief Financial Officer David Del Grande said more than 200,000 bills are going out in paper form by the end of the month, and they will be viewable online sooner.
"We made a decision to send a bill to everyone regardless of whether your taxes are paid by your mortgage company or not, for transparency purposes," Del Grande said.
