AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A suspect was sentenced to decades in prison for a shooting that injured a teenage girl at an Aiken Walmart.
Stephen Christopher Foreman pleaded guilty but mentally ill in connection with the June 7, 2023, shooting at the Walmart on Whiskey Road .
He was sentenced on Oct. 20 to 28 years in prison with long-term mental health treatment for a charge of assault/attempted murder, as well as five years for possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to court records.

Dakota Taylor is facing multiple charges, including malice murder, felony murder and cruelty to children in the first degree in the death of her 7-month-old son Micah Taylor.
The sentences are to run concurrently.
