WILKES‑BARRE, PA — A late‑night disturbance inside a Kidder Street hotel room led officers to a violent domestic incident where a 25‑year‑old man was taken into custody after allegedly assaulting a woman and placing his hands around her neck.

Police were dispatched twice Tuesday night to 880 Kidder Street after 911 callers reported a male and female screaming inside a hotel room. When officers arrived around 10:58 p.m., they said they could hear the disturbance from the hallway before the man inside opened the door and yelled “shoot me!” at officers.
