PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - During the past month or so, deputies have been cracking down on speeding in Putnam County.

Deputy Chris Campbell took WSAZ’s Ariana Mintz with him Wednesday to show her their efforts firsthand.

“Within the past month or so, we’ve been trying to pick up more speed patrols through out the county, just to try and slow people down so their more mindful of the speed laws,” Campbell said.

We told you about the sheriff’s office’s speeding initiative in October, but now it’s expanding to more areas.

Campbell said currently they are patrolling DuPont Road, Cross Lanes Drive, Scott Depot Road and Hurricane Creek Road.
