DES MOINES, Neb. (WOWT) - A coalition of nine attorneys general from around the region sent a letter to a federal board expressing concerns about the pending railroad merger of Union Pacfic and Norfolk Southern.
The letter, dated Friday — the same day UP shareholders overwhelmingly voted in favor of the merger — was issued by AGs from Tennessee, Kansas, Florida, Mississippi, Iowa, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Ohio. It calls on the Surface Transportation Board to conduct “a thorough review” of the proposed merger.
