Dry conditions return to N.J., followed by another shot of rain as weekend begins

High pressure will keep New Jersey dry through Friday before a frontal wave brings light rain Friday night into Saturday morning, with the best chances across southern portions of the state.

The immediate forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies tonight with patchy frost possible in outlying areas as temperatures drop to the upper 20s inland and 30s along the coast, according to the National Weather Service .

Thursday will feature filtered sunshine with high temperatures in the upper 40s as high pressure remains in control.

Friday starts dry, but clouds will thicken through the day as a frontal system approaches from the Ohio and Tennessee valleys, forecasters said. High temperatures wil
