B.C.-based singer Paul Rodgers, a founding member of Free and Bad Company, was the only Canadian to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year.

Bad Company was honoured during a ceremony held Nov. 8 at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.

Due to health issues, the 75-year-old musician was unable to attend the event — but a close Canadian friend stepped in on his behalf.

Bryan Adams filled in for the singer in a rousing rendition of the Bad Company classic Can’t Get Enough of Your Love. Rodgers prepared a taped acceptance speech that was broadcast at the event. Rodgers praised Adams’ performance in the clip, noting “Bryan was amazing on so many levels — such a consummate professional. It was an absolute charge watching him perform our song.”
