A special weather statement was issued by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 9:51 p.m. until Thursday at 3 a.m. for Westmoreland Ridges and Higher Elevations of Indiana as well as Mercer, Venango, Forest, Lawrence, Butler, Clarion, Jefferson, Allegheny, Armstrong, Westmoreland and Indiana counties.

"Patchy Freezing Fog Overnight. With temperatures below freezing in isolated areas with fog formation observed, freezing fog remains possible through the overnight hours. This may result in a light coating of ice, particularly for elevated surfaces, though some slick spots are possible on area roads and sidewalks. Use extra caution if outside this evening," adds the weather service.
