CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — A Clay County grandmother is in jail after allegedly trying to murder her own daughter, according to the county sheriff's office.
62-year-old Serpil Adams is charged with second-degree murder after the Clay County Sheriff's Office says she broke into her estranged daughter's Oakleaf Plantation home on Monday, Nov. 17, and attacked her.
According to a Wednesday news release from the agency, the victim was at her home on Reese Avenue around 3 p.m. with her two children when Adams entered the home through an unlocked door and began attacking her with a serrated utility knife.
The attack was put to a stop by the victim's 8-year-old daughter, according to CCSO, who stabbed Adams in the upper arm with a kitchen knife in an attempt to protect her mother. Adams fled the scen
