KEWANEE, Ill. (KWQC) - For Jason Kubiak’s family, the pain is still heavy.

Nov. 1 2020 is the night that changed everything for Richard and Laura Kubiak. Their son Jason was hit by a vehicle and later died after walking along Lake Street in Kewanee.

The Kubiak’s said Jason was an aspiring entrepreneur and loved the Cardinals, Dolphins and selling baseball cards.

Now, with his absence, all the Kubiak’s have are memories as they wait for answers about who killed their son.

“We go out to the cemetery all the time and we visit our son and especially for her, [Laura] it really bothers her,” Richard Kubiak said. “It’s like it was yesterday, it don’t go away, you’re always thinking. We always mention his name, Jason did this and Jason did that.”
