CARROLL COUNTY, Ga. — A Carroll County man is under arrest after making an online threat to a metro Atlanta high school, according to the Carroll County Sheriff's Office.
In a social media post, the sheriff's office said the incident began when a juvenile in Grand Rapids, Colorado, called Carroll County's 911 administrative line and provided a name and number that did not match the caller ID.
That phone call, officials say, prompted immediate concern and action.
The Carroll County Criminal Investigations Division launched a full investigation, and investigators gathered records for both phone numbers, including one that was a TextNow account, which led to an IP address and location in Fruita, Colorado.
