COLUMBUS, Ohio – After more than two years of dickering, Ohio lawmakers are poised to pass sweeping restrictions on intoxicating hemp.

In a late-night marathon session, House and Senate members working as a conference committee advanced a bill that took into account changes made by the federal government that essentially banned intoxicating hemp products with more than 0.3% THC. The bill also includes some technical changes involving recreational marijuana laws.

However, that did not take place until long after the Ohio Senate adjourned for the evening about 9:30 p.m. At that point it appeared a deal could be dead.

The Senate is not scheduled to return until December. The legislation cannot be completed without another vote of the Senate. The House approved the new bill shortly after 1
