Keir Starmer is now as unpopular as Boris Johnson was when he was forced to quit as prime minister.
The PM’s approval ratings have hit an all-time low after another difficult few weeks for the government.
According to YouGov, just 19% of British voters have a favourable opinion of Starmer, with 73% having an unfavourable view.
His net favourability rating of minus 54 is the worst he has ever had with the pollster, and almost identical to the minus 53 Johnson recorded before his resignation as PM in 2022.
However, Starmer is still not as unpopular as Liz Truss , who hit minus 70 before she left No.10.
The prime minister’s grim score comes in the wake of a furious briefing war between No.10 and Wes Streeting amid claims the health secretary is plotting to replace Starmer.
