Keir Starmer’s spokesperson has pushed back on Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin’s apparent new peace plan to end the Ukraine war.

Multiple outlets have reported that the US president has been working with Russia on a new strategy which could include demands for Ukraine to cede more territory in the Donbas, give up its weapons and take a cut to its military.

If these reports are accurate, it would be a major red line for Ukraine as Kyiv has repeatedly refused to willingly give up any land to Putin.

The prime minister’s spokesperson avoided endorsing such a plan when speaking to reporters this morning – and made clear that nothing should be agreed without Ukraine’s agreement.
