PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) –Nine people have been displaced by an early morning fire in Providence.
Crews responded to the 91 Althea Street fire at approximately 3 a.m. Thursday, which is a total loss, according to a Providence official.
The building was vacant at the time of the fire.
The fire reached the neighboring home at 93 Althea Street, which resulted in the displacement of residents.
The American Red Cross is assisting the five adults and four children who are now without a home.
According to Providence Fire Department Chief Derek Silva, there were no injuries in the incident.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
