City of Peoria streets division and its contractor will begin work to mill and overlay 87th Avenue, from Quail Avenue to Deer Valley Road, Nov. 22-25.

This work is scheduled during the school’s Thanksgiving break and is the second phase of a larger mill and overlay project on 87th Avenue, between Lake Pleasant Parkway and Deer Valley Road.

The first phase, 87th Avenue, between Lake Pleasant Parkway and Quail Avenue, took place earlier this year during the school’s spring break. Both phases of this project were scheduled during school breaks to minimize the impact to traffic and the school’s operations.

To accommodate this work, 87th Avenue, from the south side of Quail Avenue to Deer Valley Road, will be fully closed while the city's streets division and its contractor lower utilities (
