Colorado is finally getting some moisture.
A storm system is expected to roll in Thursday afternoon and into Friday, spreading rain across the plains, light snow in the foothills and up to eight inches of snow in parts of the high country, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder .
The rain is expected to sweep across the plains Thursday afternoon, with snow developing in the mountains by Thursday evening, forecasters said. Rain and snow will continue through Friday.
East-facing slopes of the higher terrain may see between four and eight inches of snow, with just a few inches in the foothills.
