Wetherspoon has announced plans to open another university pub.

The pub chain will operate Joe’s at the University of Birmingham as part of a new partnership. Joe’s, which is named after the University of Birmingham’s iconic clock tower, will continue to be run and managed by the Guild of Students.

The new site will open in Easter 2026 following an extensive refurbishment and will feature the full Wetherspoon food and drinks menu, including weekly club deals, such as the Thursday Curry Club.

Wetherspoon, which has nearly 800 pubs across the UK, opened its first university pub in the Hull University in 2022.
