From Lidl to M&S and a popular brand, diners blind-tasted the melt-in-the-middle chocolate puddings and were surprised by their favourite choice

Taste testers have shown a surprising preference for a budget-friendly chocolate melt-in-the-middle pudding, over more luxury versions. In a recent episode of The Taste Test restaurant series, diners were invited to sample three different puddings without knowing which supermarket they came from.

The blind approach encouraged honest reactions, allowing each participant to judge solely on flavour, texture and overall quality. For option A, the group sampled Lidl’s Deluxe Belgian Chocolate melt-in-the-middle Pudding, priced at just £2.49.
