MIDDLETOWN, CT (WFSB) - A man was convicted of sexually assaulting a child, state prosecutors announced.
They said 37-year-old Justin Rowen received a 10-year prison sentence, execution suspended after 5 years served, with 10 years of probation.
Michael Gailor, state’s attorney for the Middlesex Judicial District, announced the conviction and sentencing on Thursday.
Gailor said Rowen was found guilty after a jury trial of risk of injury to a minor and fourth-degree sexual assault.
“Evidence at trial showed that during the fall of 2022, the defendant engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with an 8-year-old child,” Gailor said.
The jury returned its verdict on Sept. 10 in Middletown Superior Court.
