NORWALK, Conn. (WFSB) - A 41-year-old Norwalk man was arrested Wednesday on firearm charges after officers found him in possession of a weapon during a quality-of-life enforcement patrol.

Mathew Clark Jr. was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a dangerous weapon, failure to comply with fingerprint requirements and carrying a pistol without a permit, according the Norwalk Police Department.

Officers were conducting selective enforcement in the area of 40 Woodward Avenue in response to recent concerns from residents and business owners regarding loitering, public drinking and other quality-of-life issues.
