MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. ( WWSB ) - Bayshore High School assistant football coach Lagarius Spikes was arrested Wednesday night on a second charge of soliciting a juvenile for sex, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives said there is probable cause to charge Spikes, 42, with soliciting sexual battery by an authority figure involving a victim under 18. The new charge is unrelated to his original arrest.

Investigators said a 15-year-old student reported that Spikes made sexually explicit comments as early as August. On Nov. 12, he expressed a desire to engage in sexual acts during a conversation in his office, according to the sheriff’s office.
