IBC Properties and Thomas Porter Architects received a Preservation Merit Award for the rehabilitation of the former Spicer Manufacturing building on Bennett Road.

The project was one of 14 “outstanding historic preservation achievements” across Ohio that were honored Nov. 7 with the Ohio History Connection’s 2025 State Historic Preservation Office Awards.

The Preservation Merit Award is for preserving Ohio’s prehistory, history, architecture, or culture, officials said. Eligible activities include, but are not limited to, restoring, rehabilitating or otherwise preserving an important building or site.
