CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV/WCSC) — Border Patrol agents participating in operation “Charlotte’s Web” have left the city, federal and law enforcement sources confirmed Thursday.
Agents began making arrests in Charlotte Saturday, Nov. 15, and arrested more than 250 undocumented people, according to a Nov. 19 news release shared by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Of those arrested, federal officials said many of them had “extensive immigration and criminal histories.”
Despite reports that agents left, federal officials said U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Immigration and Customs Enforcement both keep offices in both Carolinas and “are consistently present and active in the region to fulfill their respective missions.”
