WASHINGTON (Gray News) – Democrats have introduced a bill to limit donations for President Donald Trump’s project to construct the new White House ballroom.

On Tuesday, U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and U.S. Representative Robert Garcia of California introduced the “Stop Ballroom Bribery Act.”

The bill aims to “root out apparent bribery and corruption involving President Trump’s ballroom.”

According to a news release, wealthy individuals, corporations and organizations have lined up to fund Trump’s new $300 million White House ballroom, “many of whom currently need something from the Trump administration — raising serious concerns of quid-pro-quo arrangements and possible bribery.”
