SAN AUGUSTINE, Texas (KTRE) - San Augustine police are urging people in the area of North Milam Street to stay indoors while they search for a fugitive.

According to the police department, multiple agencies are searching for a man who fled from officers earlier Thursday morning. The suspect was last seen in the area of North Milam Street wearing gray shorts.

The press release said that K-9 units are on the ground and helicopter and drone teams are doing aerial searches.

Residents who are in and around North Milam Street are encouraged by the police department to remain indoors and stay alert.
