OWINGS MILLS, Md. —

Coming this weekend, people can learn how to make a friction fire or hunt big game like the first natives of Maryland did hundreds of years ago.

The Native American Culture Celebration will demonstrate culture at the Irvine Nature Center in Owings Mills.

On Sunday, visitors can learn all about the indigenous people of Maryland, which includes the Piscataway Tribe, during a special free celebration.

"This is our recreative Native American site, sort of a living memorial and educational site. The wigwams are a big deal. We are very proud of the construction that our volunteers and staff have been working on.
