FAIRFIELD, Conn. (WFSB) - A 43-year-old Fairfield man was arrested Thursday on a sexual assault charge following a month-long investigation by police detectives.

Daniel C. Suozzi was charged with sexual assault in the first degree, according to the Fairfield Police Department.

Police say the investigation began after a report Suozzi sexual assaulted a woman known to him. Police did not provide any other details.

Suozzi was released on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Nov. 25.
