EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Wednesday, the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library announced they are demolishing their Red Bank location to make room for a new library.
That news has many regular library-goers wondering, what’s happening to the beloved “Heidi” stained glass window in the children’s area?
14 News reached out to EVPL’s chief operating officer, Heather Kelsey, and she says they’re still deciding what will happen with it, but don’t plan on destroying it.
“While the Heidi window will not be part of the new Red Bank location, we are currently in discussions on how to commemorate, remember, rehouse, or repurpose the window,” she said in a statement. “It is not the intent to have it demolished with the building.”
Officials say EVPL Red Bank was built on the site of a home built
