A 27-year-old driver was killed Sunday morning in Cape May County after he struck an unoccupied construction vehicle, authorities said.

Logan S. Young was driving a pickup truck south on Route 47 in Dennis Township at about 5:20 a.m. when he crossed over the center line, veered off the road and slammed into a parked vehicle on the northbound shoulder, State Police said.

Young, of Sellersville, Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead at the scene, near mile post 18.3.

The crash remains under investigation.

A 2015 graduate of Lower Cape May Regional High School, Young was a “gentle giant” and a “loving soul who deeply cherished his family,” according to an online obituary .
