Law enforcement officials are urging the public to remain alert during this holiday season, and throughout the year, and report suspicious activity and threats of violence – including online activity – to local law enforcement officials (local police precincts) or FBI field offices at www.fbi.gov.

New Yorkers are no strangers to methods of counterterrorism used by the NYPD and the Joint Terrorist Task Force to keep the city safe following the September 11th attacks, police sources said.

Be prepared: • Avoid large crowds is a good way to stay safe. • Be responsible for your personal safety. Check your surroundings and report all suspicious activity to law enforcement. • Carry emergency contact, medical, and other information. • And remember, “if you see something, say something.”
